EXERCISE CT #1: macro

In order to really challenge myself, and because I'm tired of reading
for myself all the time, I decided to do the exercises on a "macro"
scale (i.e. for the "world"). (NOTE: My macro readings will probably
tend to be biblical.) I did the reading first with David's Tarot, then
compared with Rider Waite.

CARD #1--nature of the problem
CARD #2--cause of the problem
CARD #3--solution to the problem

DT #1--Queen of Wands

A woman kneels with arms upraised; wings (?) extend outwards along her
arms down to her back. Or it could be that she's on fire. Beneath her
are nine wands, vertical, as if they are supporting her. As the "nature
of the problem," her pride is turned to haughtiness. Reminds me of
Lucifer, just before he fell. She's special, and she knows it. She
uses her God-given gifts as a form of power, to gain recognition and
adoration from others. There is no humility, no equality, no love of
neighbor--only love of self. The individual is primary, and the race is
to the swiftest, highest, strongest, biggest.

"For who makes you to differ from another? Indeed, what do you have
that you did not receive? If, now, you did indeed receive it, why do
you boast as though you did not receive it?"--I Corinthians 4:7

"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with
will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,
self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement,
slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness,
betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather
than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to
its power; and from these turn away."-- 2 Timothy 3:1-5

DT #2--Seven of Swords

This is a difficult card to describe, as well as to read. A vertical,
slightly-curved sword (looks Asian) is crossed by a variety of lines.
I don't get anything without flashing to the RW, so I'll come back to this.

DT #3--Six of Wands

Six curved jagged lines of different lengths are joined together at the
bottom with a circle. It resembles a crown of wood or bone--a crown
of thorns perhaps, a foreshadowing of the Future King.

RW #1--Queen of Wands

The RW QuW is much more sedate than that of David's Tarot. But I'm am
stuck on the black cat. The cat looks at the viewer, while the queen
looks to the distance. It's like there is some kind of diabolical
relationship here, like the cat really runs the show. (Cat people
understand.) Cats are really self-oriented. And who wouldn't want to
have a cat's life, anyway? So, nature of the problem: the inmates are
running the asylum, and it's every man for himself.

RW #2--Seven of Swords

It's hard to determine whether the "world" is the perpetrator or the
victim in this picture. But one thing is clear: someone is sneaking
away with the truth, information, intellect, discernment, justice.

RW #3--Six of Wands

Palm Sunday--another foreshadowing of the Future King.
"And I saw, and, look! a white horse; and the one seated upon it had a
bow; and a crown was given him, and he went forth conquering and to
complete his conquest."--Revelation 6:2

"And the seventh angel blew his trumpet. And loud voices occurred in
heaven, saying: 'The kingdom of the world did become the kingdom of
our Lord and of his Christ, and he will rule as king forever and
ever.'"--Revelation 11:15

The solution: "One ring (or crown) to bind them"
